Prequel’s DJ sets combine a love of Detroit House music, a keen crate diggers ear, a desire to challenge audiences and a genuine enthusiasm behind the decks. He wears his musical heart on his sleeve and strives to create a unique and memorable experience whenever and wherever he plays.

2014 saw the first official release of Prequel’s original productions on Bradley Zero’s Rhythm Section International imprint, the label's third release. The Polite Strangers EP garnered attention and praise from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Osunlade, Lefto, Ben UFO and several other well-respected industry figureheads, both abroad and at home.

In 2015 Prequel’s original work appeared on the Wondercore Island Mixtape #5, a contribution to a compilation on new label Transfigured Time as well as a remixes of Melbourne based outfit Tulalah (Equinox Recordings), Sampa The Great and ALTA.

This year Prequel returns to Rhythm Section International to release his sophomore EP, Freedom Jazz Dance, a record that looks to further solidify the bond of Jazz with contemporary music whilst simultaneously proving to be a serious artistic statement in its own right. Freedom Jazz Dance is a record with a message and one that speaks from the soul.

Always on the hunt for playing and making music of true substance, Prequel continues to evolve and improve both behind the decks and in the studio.
